What do the GED Ready™ tests predict?
There are four timed GED Ready™ "practice" tests that were developed to predict how a test taker will score on the actual GED® Subject Test. Each practice test is about 1/2 the length of the corresponding GED subject test, and each test is worth 200 points. There are three score ranges:
Prediction: Unlikely To Pass
Students who score between 0 to 145 on a GED Ready™ test are in the unlikely to pass range. Your practice test score is a strong indication that you need PreGED preparation course work to bring your skills up to GED level.
Prediction: Likely To Pass
Students who score 146 and above on a GED Ready™ test are ready to take the corresponding GED® Subject Test. If you are already enrolled in a GED preparation course, discuss your score with your teacher who will advise you on the best course of action.
Reading Skills Necessary For Passing All Four GED® Subject Tests
Skills needed to pass the Mathematics tests are also part of the Social Studies and Science tests. Examples can be found in sections such as Understanding and Interpreting Graphs and Charts. This skill set is used in Mathematics, but it is also be applied to demonstrate or explain data in other academic areas. Good reading comprehension, coupled with strong writing skills, are essential for passing the Reasoning through Language Arts Exam. However, these skills are also equally important when taking the Science and Social Studies tests.
